The Best of 2019

I can’t believe 2019 is almost over! It has been such a special and exciting year for me personally and for my business, and I am so incredibly grateful for all the learning, triumphs and challenges this year has brought me. So grateful in fact that I felt like I needed to tip my hat to a small sample of my favorite client moments this year (there’s too many to count!) A very sincere cheers and Happy New Year to every single one of my clients. You have all made this year extra special for me, and I hope to work with you again!

What a fox, no? Fithouse invited me down to get some snaps early this year where I got to take advantage of their big beautiful space, floor to ceiling natural light, and their incredibly cool and photogenic staff!

Roxy & Josiah just wanted some nice photos of the two of them and their cute pup, and I absolutely fell in love with the sparks flying off these two. Firstly: you guys are magical, and secondly: can I PLEASE photograph your wedding when you guys get married? No, but actually?

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Look out world, Liz Kearns is here and she means business. I had the esteemed privilege to photograph and build a website for Liz of Lekker Cider this year, and I very much hope to work for them again. Not only is their cider amazing and completely unique, but they are just the sweetest husband and wife team!

I actually met these two while shooting a wedding, and I’m so excited to soon be shooting theirs! Bonnie & Myles are the kind of couple that you just know are in for the long haul. You can tell they love and appreciate each other deeply. This was one of my favorite shoots at Big Hill Springs!

Can I just be sappy for a second here? My brother Keesje Hoogveld grew his business SO much this year, and I am crazy proud of him! He’s been quietly honing his skills for years now, and this year he really showed us all what he can do! Can’t wait to see what Bearded Axe Leather does next!

I have literally known the Prudens my entire life and watching them grow up has been so cool! I adored this shoot at Confederation Park where we took advantage of some shady spots on a gorgeous summer day.

This moment might have to be in my top 5 simply because it was so damn real, ya know? This was the first time I did a “First Look” for a wedding and let me tell you, it won’t be the last! This moment between Nicole & Grant was the kind of moment that reminds me why I do what I do. Some things should last forever. :)

A chance meeting brought this amazing couple into my life, and I’m so excited to see what these two do together. They are as adventurous as they are kind, and the love between them cannot be understated. Congrats to this amazing couple and their recent nuptials!

This project was for my one and only soul sister Kristen. She hired me to take some lovely photos of her and her Dad (who I also lovingly call “Dad”), and trusted me to put together a beautiful printed book of the photos as Christmas presents for them both. I love and cherish you guys!

Big ups to Jared Belfrage of Long Hop Brewing for bringing me on to capture some content and help build their new website! If you haven’t already sampled them, Long Hop’s brews are really unique and extremely crushable! Check out this article written about them recently on Spotlight on Business Magazine online.

Lastly, but definitely not least I have to give the biggest warmest shout out to my Freehold Brewing family who has truly let me spread my creative wings shooting content, portraits, covering events, and getting my feet wet with some video! It has been an honour and a privilege to capture and share your stories on social media! Can’t wait to see what you guys do next!

Thanks for reading my re-cap of this amazing year!
See you guys in 2020!
